Weight loss surgery is covered by many insurances plans depending on your employer. Bariatric insurance coverage can be very confusing and overwhelming. Our specially trained medical staff is here to assist you with understanding your coverage. When you call to make your first appointment, we will begin the verification process to find out your coverage. At your first appointment, our medical staff will meet with you to explain your benefits and your insurance company's requirements for approval of your weight loss procedure. Once these requirements have been fulfilled, our bariatric surgery coordinator will submit your surgery request to the insurance for approval. The process for insurance approval may take anywhere from 15-60 days. You may check the status of your submission with your insurance member services phone number on the back of your card. Once approved, we will contact you to schedule your surgery. Some patients do not use insurance and we offer cash pay options for weigh loss surgery. Some patients have insurance but have a bariatric exclusion in their insurance policy or they may have an insurance denial for their surgery.
